Illuminating Petra's Treasury

We are very honored that LM3X was selected to permanently install the LAZR 20K™ projection mapping system on a spectacular site in Petra, Jordan. This unique place, considered one of the New Seven Wonders of the Modern World, has gained an entirely new dimension thanks to advanced projection mapping storytelling.

The technical solution: eight LAZR 20K™ 20,000-lumen projectors illuminate the Al-Khazneh — the treasury facade carved into the stone. The canvas is 40 meters (130 ft) high and 30 meters (98 ft) wide. The projectors are mounted on the Urban Pole™, offering an industry-leading small footprint and low environmental impact for permanent outdoor projection mapping.

Three days after the installation, Petra was hit by a violent storm and flooding. Thanks to the exceptionally robust construction of the LM3X projectors, the unfavorable weather did not affect the evening show, which went ahead as planned.
