Illuminating the Church Altar in Frýdek-Místek

A projection mapping case study from the Basilica of the Visitation of the Virgin Mary in Frýdek-Místek, Czech Republic. For this unique sacred interior, the compact LAZR 4G™ system was used to illuminate the basilica altar with precise, soft, and atmospheric visuals.

The goal was not to overpower the historical architecture, but to enhance its natural depth, shape, and spiritual atmosphere through carefully controlled light. Inside the basilica, the projection created a focused visual layer on the altar area, highlighting architectural details while respecting the character of the sacred space.

The LAZR 4G™ is a 6,000-lumen projection mapping projector designed for architectural illumination, video mapping, event visuals, and permanent or temporary installations. Thanks to the integrated Lumiverse™ media server and remote-control options, it is ideal where compact size, reliability, and flexible operation are essential.

The result: a subtle yet powerful visual experience — technology, architecture, and atmosphere combined inside one of the region's most remarkable pilgrimage churches. It shows projection mapping works not only on large outdoor facades but also in intimate, historically sensitive interiors such as churches, museums, and heritage buildings.
